Our Responsibilities
The Chichester Anaesthetic Group provides a 24-hour, 365 days a year service so that you have full access to our
help and expertise throughout your stay.
After your arrival to hospital, you will be visited before the operation by a Consultant Anaesthetist who will take
a detailed assessment and discuss the anaesthetic options with you.
This also provides an opportunity to talk about pain relief and postoperative care. Following this consultation, your
anaesthetic will be tailored specifically to your requirements.
Your anaesthetic will be administered by the same Consultant who will remain with you throughout the operation.
The Consultant will then transfer you to the recovery area where you will be closely monitored before returning to the ward.
Your pain relief, fluid requirements and postoperative care will have been arranged according to your discussions before the
operation and will be overseen by the same Consultant.
Depending on the type and complexity of surgery, your postoperative recovery may need further involvement by the Consultant Anaesthetist. |
